About Me
As a board-certified palliative medicine specialist, I work with patients and families facing the challenges of serious, life-limiting illness. I provide expert care in symptom management, communication surrounding goals of care and advanced care planning, and end-of-life care. I serve my patients at all stages of their cancer journeys, alongside their primary oncologist and other specialist teams. Together with patients, families and their doctors, I work to create a care plan that is aligned with patients’ values, preferences and goals for their care. My patients can rely on me for high quality, compassionate care that considers the whole person, including emotional and spiritual health as well as physical.
My favorite part of working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, social workers, and chaplains to provide comprehensive care to patients and families experiencing serious illness.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an assistant professor in the Division of Palliative Medicine at The Ohio State University. I am passionate about teaching communication and symptom management skills to learners at all levels of medical training.
When I am not working, I enjoy reading, baking, quilting and hiking. My family and I have made it our goal to visit every U.S. National Park.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Bennett has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
