Biography
I am Cassandra Vietas-Prete, PT, and I specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy and pelvic health conditions. My physical therapy practice at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center focuses on helping patients improve bladder, bowel, sexual and pelvic health through individualized, evidence-based care.
I chose a career in pelvic floor physical therapy because I am passionate about helping people feel comfortable discussing concerns that are often difficult, sensitive or overlooked. I strive to create a safe, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, gain a better understanding of their bodies and feel empowered to achieve their health and wellness goals.
My clinical interests include pelvic floor physical therapy, gender-affirming care physical therapy, care for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) who experience bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction, and pregnancy and postpartum physical therapy focused on wellness and return to function. I work closely with each patient to develop a treatment plan that reflects their individual needs, goals and lifestyles.
In addition to patient care, I serve as the pelvic health team coordinator and mentor within The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's Pelvic and Women's Health Physical Therapy Residency Program. Mentoring students in the residency program strengthens my commitment to my own lifelong learning and helps ensure that I remain connected to the latest research and best practices so that I can provide the highest-quality care to my patients.
My professional accomplishments include becoming board-certified in pelvic and women's health, earning certification as an MS specialist and developing the educational course "Pelvic Floor and Pushing Coordination for Delivery.” Through both clinical care and education, I am dedicated to helping patients improve their function, confidence and quality of life.
