I'm an optometrist with expertise in specialty contact lens fitting, as well as treating low vision problems. I do a lot of work with scleral lenses, a unique, larger type of contact lens. Specialty contact lenses help some patients who have trouble wearing other lenses.
My patients include people with conditions such as severe dry eye and other eye diseases, such as keratoconus (a corneal eye disease), or those with corneal transplants.
I practice personalized medicine by being available for patients, especially those who travel long distances to come to Ohio State. I'll do my best to maximize each patient's vision, whether that involves finding the best contact lens fit or recommending low vision aids. I help improve their vision and their quality of life.
Working at Ohio State feels like coming home. It's been a great experience and I enjoy everyone with whom I work at OSU.
One of the best aspects of my work is having a patient come back after fitting him or her with a specialty lens or a low vision aid that's really made a difference. Seeing the change from one visit to the next is very rewarding.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
