Biography

As a transplant hepatologist, I specialize in treating all forms of liver disease. When a patient comes to see me, they can rest assured I’ll be there to support them during their treatment, and, if necessary, before and after their liver transplant. I’m passionate about providing a patient-focused individualized approach. Liver disease is a complex health condition and I strongly believe patient education and caregiver involvement help to improve patient outcomes.

I commonly help patients manage cognitive disabilities related to advanced liver disease. My research is focused on hepatic encephalopathy, which is a form of cognitive impairment linked to chronic liver disease. I also have an interest in taking care of the elderly population with liver disease, as that specific population needs a more nuanced approach especially when it comes to liver transplantation.

I chose to continue my career at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in part because of the commitment to diversity and values. Everyone here is devoted to providing the highest quality care possible and I’m proud to be part of the team. I also find teaching medical students and residents to be a gratifying experience.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and our dog, Jasper. I enjoy traveling and exploring new restaurants with my spouse.
