About Me

I am a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in neurology, with an emphasis on treating Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a designated Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence, and I serve as co-coordinator of the program. In this role, I lead multidisciplinary care initiatives, promote patient education and support program development for patients with Parkinson’s disease. I collaborate with clinicians, researchers and community partners to enhance the quality of care and resources available to patients and their families.

My approach involves combining medical expertise with compassionate care. I recognize that patients and their families require more than just clinical treatment. They need an advocate and a dedicated partner in their health care journeys, and it’s a privilege to offer that support and guidance.

I was honored to receive the 2024 Sherrie Gould APP Spotlight Award, which recognizes excellence in advanced practice provider leadership and contributions to movement disorder care. I’m also proud to help advance care for patients across the country. I present several times a year at national conferences and professional meetings on topics related to Parkinson’s disease and movement disorder care.

My decision to pursue a career in medicine was deeply personal. When my father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, I felt uncertain and overwhelmed. I was determined to navigate the complexities of his condition, ensuring he had access to the best possible care while also striving to understand the intricacies of movement disorders. What began as a personal mission quickly transformed into a professional calling, and I have channeled my personal experience into professional excellence.

I am committed to making a meaningful impact on my patients’ lives and contributing to research that advances treatments for movement disorders. My experience includes serving as the site primary investigator for a multicenter study evaluating the efficacy and safety of the drug pridopidine in patients with early-stage Huntington’s disease. I am also actively involved with the Association of Movement Disorder Advanced Practice Providers. I serve on its continuing medical education, publication and international committees, where I contribute to professional development, research dissemination and global outreach efforts.

Love Clarrise. She is so thoughtful, so caring, remembers us and the problems we have had or are having. Always concerned that she is making sure my quality of life is the best it can be with what I am dealing with at the time.

She was very personable, which is rare in a care provider these days. I felt more like a person and less like a patient.
