I specialize in both public and community psychiatry as well as physician education. I want to make sure the future of mental health care is focused on innovation, integration with physical health care, and quality services made available to people who need care and improved access. More specifically, I’m focused on advancing best medication practices for psychosis and improving the integration of physical and mental health care.
I always listen carefully to my patients’ needs and direct them to the best available care. By working at The Ohio State University, I know I’m doing my part to shape the future of medicine.
In my free time, I enjoy biking, gardening, traveling and visiting with others.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/21/2019, Dr. Svendsen has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
