About Me

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I treated post-bariatric surgical patients as a staff RN in an inpatient setting for 17 years. That experience has been pivotal in laying a solid foundation for providing patient-centered care. I’m passionate about partnering with patients and empowering them to improve their overall health. I specialize in the care of bariatric surgery patients, as well as those who desire to pursue nonsurgical options for weight loss. I care about all aspects of a patient’s health and believe in equipping patients with the necessary tools to help them achieve their weight-loss goals. This care includes involving a multidisciplinary team to provide the best quality care for patients. I also encourage patients along their journey to keep their eyes on the prize and never give up.

The Ohio State University has been a major part of my higher education journey as I completed my undergraduate and graduate programs here. Coming back to Ohio State as faculty, I love how the academic environment, especially at the academic medical center, creates many opportunities for career advancement. I’m passionate about researching the impact of obesity among the African American population along with providing excellent patient care.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, cooking, traveling and playing piano.
