About Me

I am a primary care physician who specializes in preventive medicine. I enjoy coming to work every day knowing I have the opportunity to help my patients achieve a higher quality of life.

My patients can depend on me to be a partner in their health care journey. I rely on relationship-centered communication and empathic listening in order to provide the best care possible for each patient depending on their specific health needs. The most common conditions I treat in adult patients include obesity, hypertension, diabetes and depression.

I’m passionate about helping to train the next generation of physicians. I’ve been teaching medical students and residents for more than two decades. My previous position at the Northern Nevada Medical Center involved training internal medicine residents, with a focus on retaining physicians in an area that faced a shortage of primary care experts.

I’m excited to continue my medical practice at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I appreciate Ohio State’s commitment to improving community health and the visionary thinking of the leadership teams.

In my free time, I love to read, cook, exercise and write my blog.

He was extremely attentive. He asked questions and provided responses. I felt heard and seen. He spent a lot of time with me and did not rush to get to the next appointment. I am so very grateful for him.

Superb physician having to survive in a system that values productivity over clinical excellence. Dr Patterson resists that pressure and thus his patients benefit.
