Biography

As a physician assistant at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in sports medicine knee surgery. I primarily see patients for knee pain, arthritis in the knee(s), meniscus tears, ACL tears and patellar dislocation. I treat each of my patients as if they are a family member by listening to them, educating them and helping them reach their ideal quality of life again.

At Ohio State, it’s clear that our physicians are inspired by the work and continue to learn their craft as the knowledge and tools implemented in their medical specialties continue to grow. They stay up to date with the latest research and perform the most cutting-edge surgeries and procedures.

In my free time, I enjoy golfing, including disc golf, as well as watching Ohio State basketball and football games.

Dr Thompson took the time to bring up my MRI images of my knee to show and explain everything that was found, what normal should look like, and the degree of what they were seeing. I think that's the first time I have had that level of explanation done with the imaging to put it all together.

The imaging department was good. I'd rate them 4.5 stars out of 5. Quick and efficient, and friendly. The PA I saw was somewhat distant, however. He listened but didn't comment after I explained my injury and symptoms. I thought maybe some feedback would have been beneficial. He was fairly good in explaining his interpretation of the X-rays and his physical exam of my knee. But toward the end of the session he asked ME what I wanted out of this. Isn't it obvious when someone goes to a doctor? Diagnose and treat !So he asked if I wanted a shot, and maybe PT. I opted for PT, which I haven't started yet. I thought he could have done better.
