About Me

Deborah Bartholomew, MD, is a general obstetrician gynecologist and associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She has dual board certification in anatomic pathology and obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Bartholomew joined the faculty at Ohio State in 1998 as an associate professor. Her clinical interests include general obstetrics and gynecology. She practices at Stoneridge Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Bartholomew was honored with an invitation to join the International Society of Vulvar Vaginal Disease (ISSVD) after presenting her research in the treatment of vulvodynia with gabapentin. She is the president-elect of the North American chapter of the ISSVD. Her platform will be development of a multidisciplinary curriculum for residents.

Her interest in pathology continues and is evident in her commitment to resident education in the field of colposcopy and cervical pathology. Her research thesis involved novel early DNA detection techniques for human papillomavirus. This work was awarded the Searle-Donald Richardson Award at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology meeting in San Francisco in 1990.

Prior to joining Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center, Dr. Bartholomew was program director of the residency program at West Virginia University-Charleston. She also served in the Air Force as a physician for six years at a large AF teaching hospital, Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Miss.
