Biography
As a family medicine certified nurse practitioner at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I provide treatment and preventative care for patients of all ages. I see patients with acute illnesses, asthma, anxiety, depression, diabetes, hypertension and women's health concerns. I am especially passionate about health promotion and disease prevention. My goal is to empower my patients to take an active role in their own care and engage in healthy lifestyle choices.
My favorite part of working at Ohio State is the collaboration among the different service teams, which allows for excellent communication between providers when patients need multidisciplinary care. I also enjoy Ohio State’s great reputation as an academic medical center and our constantly evolving health care. Since I began at Ohio State in 2006, I have worked in critical care, trauma and general surgery as well as family practice. I truly enjoy being a Buckeye.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children.

She is friendly and does listen. I just wished she was easier to schedule with. Sometimes unless it's urgent, it can be over a month to get a time.

The visit was great as always. We covered all the bases. But, when we discussed the possibility of my prescriptions running out. She suggested in that eventuality I should call and something would be done.
I appreciate my PCP's patience with my questions! She understood that I didn't want any procedures or medications that weren't necessary for my well-being and took the time to explain what I needed to attend to promptly and what I could take time and think about. I also appreciated her explaining a referral in my care and addressing my concerns about seeing the new doctor.

Dusty makes me feel heard and takes all my concerns seriously. I had apprehension about taking medicine for my anxiety or even knowing that I had anxiety and some depression. She heard that concern and let me work to it in my time and started me on a low does and talk through options about dosage, etc. She was quick to answer when I had questions about some side effects after upping dosage. I wish I had someone like Dusty sooner to help talk me through some of these things so I could have started treatment earlier in life.

I feel that she had a plan which would work for the vast majority of patients, and was unwilling to alter it for a patient with a more complicated medical history. This necessitated in my contacting the office and requesting the additional medication I had requested during the visit. I have lived with my condition for many years and have avoided hospitalization because I know what it takes to get well.
