About MeAs a cardiologist, I specialize in adult congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. I find this specialty fascinating, mainly because it’s new in comparison to other fields. What I really enjoy about my job is the opportunity to meet a lot of interesting people and patients from all different backgrounds.
I grew up in a very rural part of Michigan and I know first hand what it’s like to not have access to specialized care. When it comes to patient care, I make sure to work with patients at a level that’s comfortable for them. I work with them to understand how their disease is affecting their lives, in order to help them achieve the best quality of life possible. I’m always open, honest and forthcoming with my patients, which helps both of us to form a long-term, trusting relationship.
I’m very passionate about our research that is changing the way we care for people with adult congenital heart disease. Research in this field is at least 20 years behind other cardiovascular fields, so the work that we do highly and directly impacts our patients, which makes the work very rewarding. It’s hard not to be excited about all the progress we are making!
The people here at Ohio State really make our medical center feel like home, both for the patients and the healthcare providers. I’m very fortunate to work with caring and hardworking people who are personally invested in the care they provide. They’re always willing to go that extra mile for our patients.
In my free time, I like to spend my time traveling, enjoying the outdoors, exercising and visiting my family.

Consulting and Related Relationships
