Biography

As a neuro-rehabilitation psychologist in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, I primarily treat patients who have experienced strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries and polytraumas. I also help manage functional neurological disorder (FND) and post-COVID-19 diagnoses. I see patients across the critical care and intensive care units, as well as in both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation settings.

My approach focuses on non-medication symptom management whenever possible, and I strive to help my patients develop the skills and strategies necessary to achieve their individualized goals. Specialized topics of interest include cognition and sexuality/sexual functioning, given changes that may occur as a result of various neurological health conditions. I always advocate for including these domains during rehabilitation and adjustment to life after injury or disorder, on par with other symptoms or concerns.

My role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center involves consistent collaboration with other multidisciplinary services, including physical, occupational and speech therapy specialists, to provide the best care possible to each patient. Effective communication is crucial to the rehabilitation process and I am proud to be part of such an exceptional and passionate team.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
