About Me

I’m a Women’s Health nurse practitioner who specializes in women’s sexual health and gynecology, and provides body positive and trauma-informed care. I’ve always been passionate about empowering women to have a voice and to make informed choices in regards to health care, particularly issues specific to women such as contraception, menopause, family planning and sexuality. I often explain to patients that they are the pilot, I’m the co-pilot here to explain the different routes we can take, and ultimately it’s their decision.

Sometimes certain aspects of women’s health, such as menopause and sexual health, are not always adequately addressed in health care and I am passionate about changing that. I want to not only provide quality, evidenced-based care for women, but also to help educate the community and my fellow health care providers. I value collaboration and have worked with other providers to create educational forums for patients as well as educational opportunities for health care providers to learn about women’s sexual health. I’m also a founding member of The Ohio Sexual Health Collaborative, a professional women’s sexual health organization.

It’s exciting to collaborate with others who share my passion for women’s health; that passion and excitement helps to keep the ideas flowing. At the Ohio State Center for Women’s Health, I have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from other women’s health specialists beyond gynecology. We can discuss mutual patients and provide a well-rounded health care experience for our patients. Being here has helped me strengthen my knowledge and keep up to date in medical fields such as primary care and endocrinology that I otherwise would not have access to.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my son and husband. My hobbies include reading, kayaking and hiking. My husband and I love to travel and have visited many places in Central America and the Caribbean. I also enjoy crafts such as crochet and sewing, and made my first quilt during the pandemic.

She extremely kind and thorough. She took a lot of time with me and listened to me and believed everything I told her. She didn't focus on my weight as the root of all my concerns as most providers do and I felt very cared for and validated.
