Biography

I am a licensed clinical psychologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in the psychological assessment of intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan, including autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, and mental health conditions. I complete adult ADHD evaluations in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and interdisciplinary autism evaluations at the Nisonger Center.

In addition to my clinical work, as an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry and behavioral health and faculty in the Nisonger LEND program, I provide clinical supervision to doctoral students and conduct research. My research interests include the assessment and treatment of autism and developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health conditions, sensory processing in autism, educational, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. I completed my PhD in psychology at Syracuse University, predoctoral internship at the UNC Chapel Hill TEACCH Autism Center, and postdoctoral internship at the Nisonger Center. I additionally have NADD-CC Clinical Certification in the specialization area of dual diagnosis of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and mental health.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Cary has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
