Biography

As a physician assistant in sports medicine, I facilitate the treatment and management of patients with injuries caused by exercise or sports-related activities. I specialize in non-surgical treatment of acute and chronic knee conditions, and provide patients with physical therapy prescriptions, bracing options, injection therapy and medication management. I also assist the primary care sports medicine physicians with the management of treatment and follow-up care for commonly experienced conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hip and ankle. I spend time carefully educating patients on the nature of their diagnosis and reviewing available care options. I think it’s important to give patients realistic expectations for results and recovery. I believe a patient must be invested in improving his or her own health, so I like to work together as a team to develop the best treatment plan to get a patient back to a healthy, active lifestyle.

I chose to work at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center as I have always felt that in order to better oneself, one must surround oneself with the best. I enjoy collaborating with a group of some of the most talented physicians and advanced practice providers in the country, and working as part of a team to provide our patients with the highest quality care.

In my free time, I enjoy being active, traveling and spending time with my husband and our two young sons.

This appointment was part of a bi-annual series of injections for my knee, so I was already familiar with the medication & procedure. Emily always does a great job administering these injections.
