About Me
I am a radiation oncologist who specializes in treating patients with gastrointestinal cancers. I work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including surgeons and medical oncologists to deliver top-notch care to our patients using specialized treatment modalities like stereotactic body radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and Y-90 radioembolization.
As a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James, my research focuses on incorporating innovative functional imagining modalities in radiation therapy and developing novel therapies for the prevention of normal tissue toxicity from radiation therapy with a focus on heart toxicity. I am also interested in conducting clinical trials that combine targeted systemic agents with radiation to develop more effective treatments for patients.
I have authored and co-authored numerous articles in publications such as the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, Radiation Oncology, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Frontiers in Oncology, and Journal of the National Cancer Institute. I am also a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American Society for Clinical Oncology, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guideline committee for colon, rectal, anal and small bowel cancers.
I am honored to work as part of a team that helps patients through one of the most difficult experiences of their lives. I enjoy educating patients on their treatment options at the initial consultation appointment, helping them through treatment and providing continued care once treatment is complete. At the OSUCCC – James, we believe that there’s no routine cancer, and it’s exciting to be part of a cancer program that is committed to delivering the best possible care to every patient.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/29/2023, Dr. Miller has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
No complaints. Treated with concern and caring,
I appreciated the urgency that Dr Miller had in handling my case. Also, providing additional information to process next steps.
Very happy
The MA and nurses were great. Dr. Miller provides excellent care...listens well, explains things well. I'm very confident and comfortable being in his care.
From Dr.Miller, PA, Nurses etc. We're on this visit and all visits has been off the charts wonderful. Professional, compassionate, friendly, wonderful. They saved my life. They never gave up on me.
Took lots of time to answer questions, and even ask questions I had not thought of.
Listen to our concerns and questions
TREATED ME WITH HIGH RESPECT
Dr. Miller is the best - thoughtful, insightful and honest
Dr Miller was very thorough and explained the treatment options and reasons for each. Explained aspects of my conditions that we didn't completely understand.
Dr. Miller is probably the best care provider that my husband has ever had, his bed side manner is impeccable.
Good.
Dr. Miller is an extremely good doctor. He takes his time explains options and I feel that he is an advocate for me.
Dr. Miller and the care providers are awesome.
Dr. Miller & his team are excellent! Excellent communication.
Dr. Eric Miller is VERY "hands-on" in over seeing my total treatment. He made it clear that he was in charge and I really liked that - I knew who was in control. Control.
The dr. & nurses answered all our questions. Care providers took their time when they were with me.
Always a calming Informative atmosphere
The RN was discussing my recent weight loss which has been substantial in a short period of time and I was explaining to her why and that I was trying to find Ensure, Boost or some kind of Protein shake. Low and behold when she left the room to let the NPT know I was ready for her, the RN came back with a bag full of the flavor of Ensure I had been looking for. This not only felt like Christmas as I have looking for it for 2 weeks with no luck, but she made me feel very special. The NPT was super as she explained things to me she would pause for a moment and ask if I understood or had any questions. She talks on the Patient level. Super informative, she's a keeper. The Doctor then comes in and immediately pulls up the scan on the computer and showed me the areas involved that were of concern. He explained what needed to be done and how it would be done and how I would feel after procedure. He then said if I did not object he would like to have an MRI done first as that would be a much clearer picture than what he was looking at. I told him no I did not mind. When he was done and left the RN came back in about 10 minutes later and said she had the scan scheduled for an 1 1/2 from then and told me where. There was a cancellation that I was able to get the spot for. The RN, NPT and Doctor were all concerned about me traveling as I am a 1 1/2 hour drive one way to the facilities. I assured each and everyone of them I do appreciate having as much done in one day as possible and I did not need housing for convenience or expense purposes as I CHOSE to be at the James Cancer Center as they are the best and and I could have chose a facility 15 minutes from my home, but I wanted the very best of care and for them to not be concerned, but I did appreciate their kindness and concern. OSU has a wonderful group and no matter if I am an inpatient or out patient everyone I have been working with and has cared for me has set the bar high for the next person!!
