Biography

As a reconstructive urologist, I firmly believe in multidisciplinary care. This is particularly important for my transgender/nonbinary patients. My role involves performing reconstructive urologic procedures and genital gender-affirming surgery (orchiectomy, vaginoplasty, vulvoplasty and metoidioplasty).

I chose a career in medicine to improve the lives of people, especially those who are often underserved. I have focused my career on improving quality of life for my patients.

I derive professional satisfaction from trainee education, especially direct surgical skills training and decision-making within the operating room. My strong interest in helping the underserved throughout my career has been a guiding principle and motivates my work in gender-affirming care and global health.
