About Me
I spent a fair amount of time as a patient growing up. This showed me the impact (for better or worse) a physician can have on a patient’s health. Being a patient is a universal experience. As doctors, we need to bring those recollections to our patient care interactions.
I like to encourage patients to learn about their health conditions. I involve them in decision-making for chronic health conditions and preventative care. I want to encourage the atmosphere of partnership in health care.
What brings me the most satisfaction about my day is when I’m able to meet patients “where they are” — not just from a health standpoint, but from a social, financial and emotional standpoint, too. It’s also great when I can see patients make positive changes in their lives and reduce their need for medication.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. McConnell has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

Love Dr McConnell! She is the best and really understands my needs. Have referred a friend to her recently!
Erin is amazing. She has good listening skills & always has the answers to my questions & needs!!
On time, efficient, made her laugh
Very good
She seems dismissive, distracted, and sometimes judgmental. Does not relate to potential obstacles in a person's life. My opinion she is obsessed with the hand sanitizer foam. Will put it on four or more times during a single office visit with the same patient.
All good.
Loved talking to her
Good listener, excellent clinical skills

Dr. McConnell was very thorough with my exam and asked all the right questions to ensure she was ordering lab work to help understand the reason for my visit! I had a great visit. She also messaged me in MyChart regarding my X-Ray and labs.
Always listens with interest and compassion and offers advice/options.
Even though I see her once a year it's like we talked yesterday. Always friendly with a good sense of humor. Attentive and shows concern and respect. Gives options which is good.
Dr. McConnell carefully considered all my ideas and my questions. She respected my ideas and questions. She took all the time I needed and I never felt rushed.
Didn't check my throat, ears, sinuses.
She was defensive, standoffish and condescending
Always listens, reviews situation, talks about options, suggests solution or gives ok for current plan.
Dr. McConnel is always kind, caring thorough compassionate and genuine
Always professional and nice
Dr. Mcconnell, is an excellent doctor. She always goes over everything carefully. She is up to date on all my care ,answers my messages the very day always..She is the best I have had ever.
She was nasty very short and unhelpful. Asked my daughter if she had any concerns, listened and then said"what do you want me to do about it". Just seemed angry the whole visit. Snapped at both me and my daughter. We will be looking for another primary care physician.
My provider first answered my questions about my blood work which was taken the day before. The OSUMYCHART had an asterisk and the words "Abnormal Bloodwork" which caused me to think the worst. She too seemed flummoxed by such wording. I did have a few issues like low D readings and and cholesterol issues but nothing "abnormal."
She is amazing, kind, smart, focus, clear and also humorous, attentive to details and know her staff
Good listener; sensitive and responsive; thorough

Love her - Erin listens to all concerns. Covers all questions. Makes sure I am doing OK and makes sure I am happy with my life. I tell family and friends they should all go to her. She is great.
Dr. McConnell was very patient and respectful. She expressed empathy many times for my long COVID and even informed me that I could message her directly if I needed to on my chart!
Dr. McConnell is ALWAYS caring, compassionate, understanding, gives so much of her time - I've never felt rushed. She explains things throughly and is concerned that things are understood. She needs to be cloned!!!!
Always listens and willing to discuss concerns and options

Dr. McConnell is an excellent doctor. She is always concerned for my welfare. I have the best medical care with her I have had ever.
She tries so hard to take care of me even when I say, "No." Very quick responses to messages in MyChart. My whole family goes to her (dad 88 yrs. old, husband, daughter & son in law.
Not my primary physician, wishy-washy about treatment, didn't provide any solution to my problem just referred me to another provider.
She sought an opinion from another provider. I appreciated that in the moment.
Thorough.
Always caring, kind, extremely knowledgeable and very thorough
Dr. Erin McConnell is the BEST doctor I have ever had!! She always takes the time to listen. She asks questions to understand what's going on. She is extremely compassionate and respectful. Dr. McConnell also is aware of her own medical limitations and is quick to give a referral or ask for permission to have a consult with a doctor in the respective field. Dr. McConnell is also quick to answer her MyChart messages. I give Dr. Erin McConnell 10 out of 5 stars.
Friendly and smiling.... Stuck to the subject and responded thoughtfully to my comments
Awesome!
Always thorough.
Dr. McConnell is great & messages back in a timely manner. Great, educated doctor. Both my kids & myself see her.
Pleasant - listens - cares.
I liked Dr. McConnell right away. She asked questions about my injury and examined the area. Due to my extreme pain she sent a req. to X-ray. Minimal fracture of 4th & 5th ribs.
Made quick decision on care required when conflicting choices were present (doing physical therapy instead of continuing with soccer season).
Caring and smart
