About Me
As a retinal specialist and surgeon, I have experience treating diabetic eye diseases, retinal vascular disorders, macular diseases, retinal detachments, complex diabetic retinal detachments and traumatic retinal detachments. My passion for eye care comes from the tremendous role vision has in our lives. I continue to study the latest and most innovative techniques for treating eye diseases in order to provide the highest quality care to my patients.
I believe the best way to care for patients is to understand their unique needs and to tailor the care to according to those needs. I approach each patient as if he or she was a member of my own family and I strive to give the kind of high quality individualized medicine I would want for my family.
Ohio State is a large institution with immense resources and cutting edge technologies. I wanted to be in an environment that fosters continuing education and learning, and the Department of Ophthalmology is just the right setting. With a large residency program and fellowship programs in multiple subspecialties, I have the opportunity to help train future generations of ophthalmologists.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2022, Dr. Yanoga has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
I first saw Dr. Barb Mahilik and she recognized I have a serious problem and she got me in to see Dr. Yanoga after a very short wait. Dr. Yanoga was very thorough, carefull, and lovingly supportive in giving me some progably bad news about my vision, pending further testing aned review of pictures of my eye from another provideer before my eye became so bad to try to determine what happened to my retina. Perfection in a doctor.
I was treated very good.
Very professional and knowledgeable
Was great , excellent
Excellent care
Good
Excellent explanation and advice given by provider.
Dr. Yanoga is efficient, very knowledgeable and friendly
I had been referred to Dr Yanago by Dr Zhang but she did not appear to have read my case/file prior to entering room. With an extremely blas? attitude about my vision loss and super short exam, she dismissed me. To her it was not a retina issue, so why was I there to see her basically. Then she passed me off to a glaucoma specialist like a shot in the dark. One of the most upsetting visits, I've had ever with a dr. I waited a month to be dismissed and an afternoon off work and an hr drive from home. While I did arrive early out of concern for the weather, it was over 1.5 hrs from testing to seeing the dr with no concern from anyone when I stepped out of the room to make sure I hadn't been forgotten.
Friendly, courteous, caring, professional, listened, offered instruction

Dr. Yanoga provides excellent care for my condition.
Personally the best Doctor Yanoga. Thanks.
Dr. Yanoga advised me after a very thorough examination that she did not see retina tearing which might have occurred based on symptoms - I felt very relieved to hear this.
I liked her a lot.

She's great.
She's a good person a good family a good doctor. She's care of me I really appreciate her services.
I've been seeing Dr. Yanoga since 2019. Over time, visits have become increasingly stressful for me. It appeared as though she just did not like me. I don't know if there was a particular reason, but no matter how I tried to mitigate and/or improve the situation, she became increasingly cold toward me. For example, I could overhear her interacting with other patients & she was very friendly, but would come into my exam & barely greet me. On my last visit with her, she did not perform an exam of my eyes as she had on EVERY PREVIOUS VISIT. I asked, "No exam today?" and she just said "NO". I felt like I could not ask why and she did not offer any further. Also on my last visit, when she gave me my injection, she stood directly in front of me & approached me in a direct way - this was unusual, as in the past, she stood to the side & approached so that I did not see the needle. In summary, she became very cool and unapproachable over time, almost as if she intended to discourage me form continuing under her care. I ended up asking my endo for a recommendation for another doctor. I never had any issue with Dr. Panoga that I could pinpoint, so I'm not sure why this happened, but I will say it became very stressful to see her. Importantly, I had no issue with her treatment decisions and believed she was very competent at her job, but when you have to see a provider so often, it's important to me that I don't have to deal with situations like this one has been.
Very professional and explains things in a way that is easily understood.
I have a great deal of admiration for Dr. Yanoga. I noticed and appreciate how she treats everyone with respect. She is extremely intelligent and her compassion shines through her exceptional gifts & talent!
Okay
All good.
Provider is great. Shows empathy and is kind.
An excellent doctor. This time taken and the precision during examination was as good as I think it could be.
She was superb,.Caring and talked the way I could understand what I needed to know and what to expect
Perfect
Showed interest and concern, helpful to work around travel plans.
The doctor Is excellent
Explained everything.
Doctor carefully examined me, explained the diagnosis and suggested a care treatment plan going forward. I was impressed with her knowledge of my condition and steps to provide care in the future. Her demeanor was relaxed and confident
Great
Took a barrage of tests and didn't discuss or report results. Told me nothing new.
Excellent work and cared enough to answer all questions
I am very pleased and happy with my provider.
Great.
Much knowledge about her profession.
Excellent provider I been going to her & her staff I very please.
She's amazing, highly highly recommend.
She was very thorough and very well-informed about my care history.
No bad experience. They always answered any questions that I had. They are very professional and they make sure to explain any confusing matters.
Doctor to ask patient if they are using any non-prescribed medicine in eyes, ears, nose & throat cavities. I was using a prescription mouthwash in nose cavity to relieve nasal congestion that was burning eyes. Since I've stopped my "self-doctoring" practice, no further burning issues with my eyes! I appreciate Dr. Yanoga!!
All good.
Diagnosed an issue that required immediate treatment and arranged for it
Dr Yanoga's upbeat, confident demeanor had a lot to do with why I didn't freak out when my retina detached.
Very, very good!!
I'm always expertly taken care of at the Havener
My care provider was friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
It's all good very professional very helpful very concerned
Good
Everyone was concerned about my comfort.
OK she sticks 2 needles in my eye as the treatment. She does everything to make this fast smooth and painless. She is still sticking my eye so that has a freak out factor. Then the numbing drops wear off. The only thing that could be better is if I could get the numbing drops for post treatment.
Professional and concerned.
I had not seen this Dr before, but I would recommend him! He was very kind and caring and explained everything in an easy to understand way
My provider was good & honest.
Very professional, friendly.
If she could have explained my problem a little better. Otherwise A+.
My dr us ok but dosnt alwYs lusten to me when I was working I told her I have to look at very fine seals and pull out bags that are bad black specks I see them on every bag with floaters. I have balancing issues now becouse of my eyes she just said get a can or walker
Very good.
This was a one time substitute for my normal doctor. She used different methods that were less comfortable but got the job done. My doctor had an emergency to be away.
Dr. Yanoga added me on urgently to her already busy clinic. She was wonderful, thoughtful, and thorough. Thank you!
Great as always.
She is always excellent, helpful, careful, tell me to call her in case I have pain in my eyes. I trust my provider and feel save.
All good.
She is kind.
Although the wait was long, apologized several times. Pleasant, courteous, well-informed and professional.
Dr. Yanoga allowed a medical student to interact with me and to try out using the equipment. This is so important, to pass on knowledge and professionalism to the next generation of providers. Great example of how a teaching institution should be.
I am thankful that she approached my medical problem as seriously as I did.
Always polite and considerate
Ok
Good
Good.
Very approachable. Did not sugar coat issues. Answered all my questions.
Yanoga is my lead optometrist.
She was very concern.
Very good care.
The Doctor has always been very kind, gentile, thorough and informative with me, even when she was shining a piercingly bright light through my dialated pupils, she shared her concerns as she was examining me, and dismissed them as she found out that there was not another hole or tear in my retina, and no further Lazer eye surgery was needed.
All good.
Excellent attention & care!
Very good
All very good.
Dr. Yanger used some medical jargon that I didn't understand, but explained it very well when I asked for clarification.
Very pleased with my care provider.
Very professional & respectful.
Care provider is knowledgeable about my eye issue. Listens attentively, offers suggestions as how to continue good eye care.
Engaging yet to the point
I have always had a good rapport with my doctor. She always explained everything thoroughly to me. And we have figured out how to make my injections better for me, as far as my reaction afterwards. I couldn't be anymore happier with Dr. Yanoga. She is great.
They were kind and empathetic. But, sometimes the waiting time was a bit long.
Excellent overall.
Disinterested. Talked more with the nurse/assistant.
Dr. Was extremely irritated by my questions regarding the lack of progress following the laser procedure and was visibly frustrated & spoke with a loud tone.
