I’m passionate about training medical students. I’m a faculty mentor in the Learning Community Program for students at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The students and I meet regularly to discuss topics that impact their development as doctors.
Every year, I travel with a group of doctors to provide urologic services to residents in Juticalpa, Honduras. More than 50,000 live in that area, and the nearest urologist is three hours away. Our team is able to bring in medical equipment and supplies and perform urologic procedures.
In my spare time, I enjoy scuba diving and nature photography. I am also committed to developing youth through volunteering with Destination Imagination, an international nonprofit creative problem-solving program for elementary through college-aged students.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 03/28/17, Dr. Begun has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
