Biography
As a family medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in helping my patients achieve their overall health and wellness goals. I encourage lifestyle changes as a foundation of my care, emphasize preventive measures and collaborate with my colleagues to provide more specialized care when necessary.
I am passionate about the physician-patient relationship and including patients in the decision-making. My patients can trust that I will always listen to their concerns and work with them to devise individualized treatment plans that work best for them. Helping to improve access to affordable care is also among my top priorities.
I appreciate the commitment to research and education here at Ohio State, and I am proud to help train future physicians as well. My role includes serving as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with family and friends and my dog, Esty. I enjoy exercising at CrossFit, trying new restaurants, reading and traveling. I also volunteer at the Columbus Free Clinic.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

All good
Very good
I'm an a immunocompromised individual. I get infections a lot. I came in knowing that I had overgrowth of yeast in my GI and skin. The skin is what he treated at a prior appointment with no diagnosis but a referral to dermatology. I'm on a waitlist. Skin has gotten worse and yeast is seen in stool (photo proof). I thought I was in the die off stage. He did not ask me any questions about my symptoms (major ones being heat intolerance and a drenched night sweats. My records show in the past year that I was sent to the ER by my last primary care for a systemic infection. He doesn't seem to be connecting the dots. Invasive Candidanitis. I asked for blood tests to see my glucose levels. They have gone way up yet no word about my results.
He is very thorough. Sat down I could tell he was really listening to me. Gave me some answers or options to questions I had. Will follow up with those later. I would recommend Dr heinz .
Dr. Heinz has always been an exceptional doctor. He's someone I wish could be more doctor for life though I know it's unpractical. He's down to earth which makes me feel comfortable as a patient but also professional and diligent. He is top tier through and through.
