Biography
I am a board-certified physician specializing in preventive medicine, chronic disease management and primary care. My practice at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center focuses on helping patients manage conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, anxiety and depression, while also supporting their long-term health and wellness goals.
My approach to medicine centers on providing compassionate, evidence-based care that helps patients make informed decisions and achieve their personal health goals. I believe that some of the most meaningful aspects of medicine are preventing illness, promoting long-term wellness and building lasting relationships with patients. Through collaborative care, I work with patients to develop sustainable habits that support their health throughout every stage of life.
I completed my undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University, medical school at The Ohio State University, and Internal Medicine Residency training at The Ohio State University. My background as a public health major has strengthened my commitment to primary care and preventive medicine, and it continues to shape the way I care for patients.
I enjoy helping patients navigate complex health concerns, and I manage a wide range of both acute and chronic medical conditions in patients. My clinical interests include preventive care, chronic disease management, anxiety and depression, gender-affirming care and LGBTQ+ health.
In addition to caring for patients, I am passionate about medical education and enjoy working with medical students and resident physicians. I value helping future physicians develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to provide outstanding patient care.
When I’m not working, I enjoy creating glass art, autocross and rallycross racing, rockhounding, training my cat to perform tricks, hiking, exploring new places, playing pickleball and attempting to catch the aurora borealis when time and weather permits.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Gina Ma has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
