About Me

I am a general rheumatologist, and I provide expert and compassionate care to patients with different rheumatological conditions. Being a rheumatologist affords me the opportunity to build life-long relationships with my patients and help guide them through the diagnosis and treatment of different conditions.

When it comes to patient care, I give everything. I treat my patients with the utmost respect and take my time to listen to them. I provide quality, knowledgeable, and compassionate care to my patients. I specialize in treating so many different conditions. The most common ones include rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc. I also treat uncommon conditions like myositis, vasculitis, sarcoidosis, etc.

At the Ohio State College of Medicine, I am an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and I take part in the education of medical students, resident physicians and fellows.

During my years as a medical student, resident physician and fellow, I was heavily involved in the education of the next generation of physicians. I am very passionate about teaching, and this has led me to pursue a career as a clinician-educator. I am involved in the instruction and mentoring of medical students.

My research interests are in quality improvement, and I have been involved in research pertaining to drug safety. I have contributed to articles educating the public about general health and wellbeing and would continue to do so.
Before I joined Ohio State, I had heard about the buckeye spirit, and this was one of the reasons I wanted to come here. Since joining this great institution, I have come to realize why this is such a special place to be. The camaraderie, passion, empathy, compassion and so on, are palpable, and truly amazing to behold and be part of.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my family. I also enjoy playing soccer, singing, and playing different musical instruments.

A genius and he was very thorough explaining about my health and the next step in getting me better

The doctor is condescending and rude, does not want to look further into my issue although my symptoms are worsening. Wasted my time , I completed 3 1/2 hours of driving just for him to rush me in and out within 5 minutes

Dr E always takes his time to listen and he makes you feel like he cares. He takes his time with me and doesn't slap a diagnosis on something that isn't clear like other doctors have in the past.

I've never wanted to get up and leave an appointment like I wanted to during this visit. The doctor did ask a lot of questions and seemed concerned until he made the diagnosis that my condition likely isn't autoimmune. Once he determined all of my painful symptoms were fibromyalgia he no longer cared. I've never experienced an appointment where I wasn't taken seriously and a doctor didn't want to help me. Living with chronic illness is very hard and to be dismissed is extremely hard to handle. After the way I was treated at the end of my appointment, I will not return in 6 months. I will find a different doctor that takes me seriously.
