In the office, I specialize in interstitial lung disease. These are a group of over 150 lung diseases that can cause inflammation and scar formation in the lungs. Interstitial lung disease has been my primary focus for the past 25 years.
Ohio State brings an extraordinarily high level of specialty expertise in patient care and is home to the "specialist's specialists." I am very proud to have participated in the training of many of Ohio's best physicians who now practice in hospitals and communities throughout the state.
In my free time I enjoy relaxing with my family, reading and traveling. However, my favorite activity is a day of fishing on my kayak. As I always say, my equation for happiness is - a kayak plus a fishing pole equals heaven.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 03/28/17, Dr. Allen has reported financial relationships with the medical device, research and/or drug companies listed below. If you have questions about the relationships listed below, please ask the faculty member. If you have questions about how these relationships are monitored by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, please contact our Compliance Office at 614-293-7802.
