About Me
As a neurologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I see patients for a variety of neurologic disorders including nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) due to diabetes and other causes, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome and muscle weakness.
I take the time to ask many questions and to perform a careful exam on my patients. I find it important to help my patients understand their condition because unanswered questions can sometimes be as distressing as symptoms. In the case of neuropathy pain, an understanding of factors that influence pain and possible treatments (and their limitations) can often be helpful.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, my role includes helping to educate the next generation of physicians. I am a clinical assistant professor of Neurology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Lee was absolutely amazing! I've never had a doctor take so much time listening to my concerns and answering my questions. He did a thorough assessment, and explained my plan of care. He was kind and caring. My husband and I were so impressed. He definitely an asset to OSU. What a blessing!
He was awesome. He said he had reviewed my chart the night before. We talked about all health history and he talked about ramifications for my daughter and grandchildren. He was great!

Provider took the time to listen to my concerns and ask questions. Provider was calm, kind, polite and respectful. However, it still didn't seem like they knew how to figure out what was wrong with me or how to get better. They didn't suggest consulting with other specialists in different areas to try and pinpoint the source of the problem. Despite me waiting for this long-awaited appointment for several months and despite my efforts to prepare every piece of information I have to present to the provider, including a document I prepared ahead of time explaining my situation in great detail, at the time of the appointment, they did not seem to be able to connect the dots. I found this aspect to be their greatest weakness in being able to offer some help for my situation. I have no doubt this provider can offer great care when presented with all the facts and data and when the patient's situation is clear and simple. Unfortunately, my condition is not so easy to solve, as no doctor is yet to figure it out.

Greatest doctor visit I have ever had in my life. Dr Lee was so calm, patient and thorough as well as friendly and respectful. I left the visit more informed than I expected. Dr. Lee spent nearly two hours with me and asked me a lot of questions about my symptoms and medical concerns. He also encouraged me to speak and ask him questions. He was open to my concerns about potential COVID vaccine injury and referred me to Integrated Medicine and to the COVID 19 Recovery clinic.
Dr. Lee listened well, answered all my questions, and did not seem in a hurry to get through the visit. Very much appreciated!

First doctor at OSU that I've had that did more for me than any of my primary care doctors. My personal experience with your primary doctors is they don't care much for the elderly.

Well after Dr. Lee was the third neurologist I have see. I thought I would get better answered question. Like why my legs and feet are numb and why I have lost my balance. But all I got was prescription for B-12 and order for orthotics. Waist of a 2 hr. drive for really nothing.
Although we waited a while to see the physician, once he entered our room he spent a great deal of time with us.

The dr. was excellent in doing his assessment and explaining each question posed to him. The dr. even tied my shoe twice when it became united while walking during the assessment. He asked if he could tie my shoe! It was so nice!

Dr. James Lee is the most attentive, thorough, and caring doctor I have ever spent time with. I've been to see him twice and am amazed how attentive and helpful he has been.
