About Me
I chose a career in medicine to channel my empathy and kindness to others when they need it most. As a primary care physician, I help each patient achieve their health and wellness goals. I treat acute illnesses and injuries, manage chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, and address mental health concerns.
Being a primary care provider allows me to become a part of my patients' families. My career has taught me that listening to my patients is the most important thing. I always work directly with them to come up with a plan that best fits their specific needs and values.
My patients know that I genuinely care about their health, and I will ensure their needs are met. I also appreciate and love the opportunity to meet new people from various backgrounds and learn about their cultures.
My role includes helping to ensure elevated standards are consistently met as a quality improvement leader at Ohio State Outpatient Care East. I have been honored to receive an Extra Mile Award for outstanding medical contributions.
I have a passion for teaching and serve as a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I enjoy working with medical students and residents because this opportunity to help educate future doctors also lets me be a lifelong learner. I also work closely with residents on quality improvement projects to bridge health care gaps.
I am a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of General Internal Medicine, and I am involved with several other professional organizations.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband, daughter, niece and nephews. I enjoy traveling, eating my mother's home-cooked meals and watching travel vlogs.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Asif has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

Excellent care provider.
I really do like my doctor. She made me feel like we had known each other for awhile
She listened to me, was concerned about my health, very nice
Good
I was sick with a sinus infection at the time of my visit, blew my nose in the room with the provider at least 5 times and this was not addressed. We "ran over" the time the provider had with me even though not all my issues were addressed, she did stay in the room with me, only because her next patient wasn't arrived, she was definitely inconvenienced by this. Didn't make me feel great. This was my initial appointment with this provider, I will not be seeing her again. I am scheduled for a 1 year follow up but I will be changing the MD.
I feel as though she is uncomfortable with working with me and I would only want to see her for just yearly check ups she doesn't seem confident in what we spoke about with my medication
Doctor was very personable.
Very detailed and complete in her work
Very good
Very good
Only good - I found that Dr. Asif listened very carefully to my questions and descriptions of what I was experiencing. She also explained clearly (and reformulated if I seemed not to understand) the source and how to manage it. The appointment was also a check-up. I was very impressed with how much time Dr. Asif spent with me - I never had the impression she was hurrying through anything. That was nice (and very professional).
I can only say did there was nothing bad. She was very prompt, very detailed, very understanding and make sure to answer all my questions
Excellent
My care provider is clearly new and needs some practice with listening instead of talking. She was nice but not an active listener. She clearly had a checklist of things she needed to ask so the appointment could be over. It came out a little awkward instead of warm and inviting. She addressed all my concerns.
I received a professional treatment
Everything was fine She was decent and did listen to all my concerns and did send referrals for further treatment
Dr. Asif was very thorough on getting my history of why I was there as to see them as it was an acute appointment, and the first time seeing them. They were not in any rush to get out of the room and I felt that they took the time to listen to me and understand the reason as to why I was there.
She was very adamant about me receiving treatment for latent Tb which I did consider but I decided not to since I am still young and healthy. But I was thoroughly frightened by her comments.
