About Me

As a family physician, I believe in providing care that is patient-centered, evidence-based and focuses on primary prevention of illness as the root of health. My role allows me to build long-lasting relationships with patients and their families in which I can see changes over time to ensure my patients' needs are being met. With each case, I try to provide cost-conscious and cost-efficient patient care.

I joined the Department of Family and Community Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2019. Here at Ohio State, I am privileged to work with world-class physicians and educators who help make a positive impact on all my patients. Additionally, my patients have access to outstanding resources in the Ohio State network such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, pharmacy and social work.

Besides providing excellent primary care to patients, I work with medical students as a volunteer at an Ohio State clinic where I provide personal instruction and supervision.

I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay area but have lived in Columbus for seven years. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, golfing, watching Cal football, traveling and spending time with my wife Shauna (a pediatrician at Nationwide Children's Hospital) and young daughter.

He took more time with me than any other care provider has. It was building a chart for me to keep coming back. Said he is always willing to help and doesn't hesitate to call.

Dr. Schord is the best doctor I've ever had as my primary care doctor. He really takes time with you and listens to everything. He always seems to do research on your history before each appointment. I never feel rushed and enjoy the appointment where I can be open and ask all of the questions to him as a professional. I would highly recommend him to any family and friends.

Dr Schord is the best physician I have ever had. He truly takes the time to listen and to thoroughly explain anything related to overall health and wellness. He responded Immediately with a message going over my blood test results. I have reached out to him between regular exams and he always provides a timely, well-presented response. I would gladly recommend him to others.

I can't say enough good about Dr. Schored because there isn't enough space her to include everything! He is absolutely the best doctor I have ever had (and I am 68 yrs. old) my husband feels the same way, he has helped both of us in the treatment of and resolution of several medical issues we were dealing with when we came to him in 2020. We moved here from out of town and feel so lucky that we found such a good doctor. I actually wanted a female PCP but when I had trouble getting appointments with 2 at the same office I made an appointment with Dr. Sehrd. And so happy I did. He is exceptionally knowledgeable on many medical issues, he explains everything so well and back his reasoning up with information that he shows us there on his lap top. He also has referred us to some OSU specialists for procedures & then contacts us to discuss the outcomes of the procedures. He encourages us to take an active part in our healthcare and decision making regarding it. We are very confident in his recommendations and judgments because he always wants the complete story from us as to what we are experiencing so he can best understand what steps to take to resolve our problems. My husband & I recommended him to our daughter (who has been a resident of Columbus for 15 yrs.). She is now Dr. Schord's patient and like us is thoroughly satisfied with his care. I have also recommended Dr. Schord to another daughter (who may become a patient in the future) and I recommended him to a friend, I would feel confident in highly recommending D.r Schod to anyone & everyone as well as the office an W. Wilson Bridge Rd. (Worthington) as my husband, myself & my daughter have all been so pleased in every experience we have had there.
