About Me

As a family physician, I believe in providing care that is patient-centered, evidence-based and focuses on primary prevention of illness as the root of health. My role allows me to build long-lasting relationships with patients and their families in which I can see changes over time to ensure my patients' needs are being met. With each case, I try to provide cost-conscious and cost-efficient patient care.

I joined the Department of Family and Community Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2019. Here at Ohio State, I am privileged to work with world-class physicians and educators who help make a positive impact on all my patients. Additionally, my patients have access to outstanding resources in the Ohio State network such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, pharmacy and social work.

Besides providing excellent primary care to patients, I work with medical students as a volunteer at an Ohio State clinic where I provide personal instruction and supervision.

I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay area but have lived in Columbus for seven years. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, golfing, watching Cal football, traveling and spending time with my wife Shauna (a pediatrician at Nationwide Children's Hospital) and young daughter.

Dr. Schord is probably the only doctor I've had that makes me feel completely comfortable, like.I can tell him anything of concern. He listens, is patient and and never makes me feel like my worries are silly. I no longer get anxiety about going for regular check ups. He was so supportive of my weight loss goals and made me like he was absolutely cheering me on as well as providing all the info I needed to do this safely.
