Biography

I am a double fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. As an internationally recognized expert in the field of orthopedic research, I offer patients treatment options informed by the latest medical research and expertise. My clinical practice treats patients with knee injuries and knee pain, including ligament tears, dislocations, tendon injuries, meniscus tears, cartilage injuries and kneecap issues. I have experience performing knee repair and reconstruction surgeries, and a wide range of kneecap, meniscus and cartilage procedures with an emphasis on minimally invasive arthroscopic approaches.

I provide personalized care tailored to my patients’ unique needs, activity levels and preferences. I put my patients at the center of the discussion to find the best treatment. I use nonoperative treatments whenever possible and perform surgery when it is the best option for the patient and their knee issue. I truly enjoy helping people of all ages and backgrounds regain their quality of life, reduce their pain and return to the activities they love.

My academic work has focused on improving treatments for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, meniscus and cartilage injuries and kneecap problems. I have been at the forefront of research that showed that in certain cases, ACL tears can be repaired instead of replaced (reconstruction), which leads to preservation of the body’s own tissue and potentially an easier or faster recovery. My future research will involve advanced treatments of ligament, meniscus and cartilage injuries.

I am extensively involved in publishing medical research in peer-reviewed journals and am frequently invited to present my research findings at national and international conferences, which enables me to offer the best possible and most recent treatments and outcomes to my patients.

The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center stands out for its exceptional clinical care, high-quality research and excellent education. We’re committed to innovating and improving the orthopedic field, and I’m proud to collaborate with such a devoted and talented multidisciplinary team.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, as well as running, skiing, hiking and travelling.
