About Me
I am an internal medicine physician specializing in emergency care at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I ensure patients feel seen, heard and safe, especially in moments of crisis. I chose a career in medicine because I believe deeply in the power of compassionate care, particularly for underserved populations. I strive to build trust with patients and serve as their advocate to help them navigate complex social and medical systems.
Teaching and mentorship are core to how I practice medicine. Working with physician residents and medical students reminds me daily of the importance of curiosity, vulnerability and growth, both in clinical reasoning and human connection. As a mentor, I support the next generation by modeling authenticity. These experiences pushed me to pursue more intentional work in medical education and social emergency medicine, areas where I can help reimagine how we teach physicians to serve with purpose.
I am an assistant clinical professor of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and I currently serve as assistant program director for the Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine (EMIM) residency program. I work closely with faculty and learners to enhance safety and performance in educational experiences.
I lead our Social Emergency Medicine (Social EM) curriculum and oversee the Social EM Summer Immersion Program, which introduces first-year medical students to emergency medicine through community outreach. I also co-authored and led the development of a multiyear social determinants of health (SDH) curriculum for physician residents, which has now been integrated into our academic program.
In addition, my responsibilities include serving as a member of the Ohio Department of Health’s Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review (PAMR) board. I contribute to maternal mortality reviews and overall health system improvement.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Morgan has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
