Department: Neurology
I am a genetic counselor and professor of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I work to help patients and families benefit from genetic testing technology for noninvasive genetic diagnosis, genetic counseling and gene-targeted therapy for neuromuscular disorders. I specialize in genetic evaluation and counseling for ALS, including predictive testing for family members.
Please note: Not all physicians schedule patients at each listed location.
I believe genetic counselors will be at the forefront of integrating emerging genetic knowledge and technologies into clinical care. My goal is to inspire and equip my students with the skills and passion needed to lead these transformative efforts. Through clinical teaching and research mentorship, I strive to prepare genetic counselors for innovative and expanded roles across clinical practice, academia and industry. I serve on the Admissions Committee for the Genetic Counseling Graduate Program in The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Roggenbuck has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
