Biography
As a sleep medicine nurse practitioner, I treat patients with sleep disorders including sleep apnea, narcolepsy, hypersomnia, insomnia and restless leg syndrome. I also treat co-existing pulmonary conditions such as asthma and COPD in my sleep patients. In addition, I manage the Inspire Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulator therapy clinic for obstructive sleep apnea.
Working in sleep medicine truly makes me feel like I am making a difference in someone's life. I love to help people improve their quality of sleep and daytime function. I always go the extra mile to make sure my patients’ care is complete from the moment they walk into my clinic to the second they get home.
Working at Ohio State’s Lung Center has been my dream job. I began my career as a respiratory therapist who wanted to expand her scope of practice. Now, I’m able to stay involved with the respiratory therapy program through teaching and get the best of both worlds! I love working in an academic medical center, where there’s a focus on research and education as well as patient care.
I have three children that keep me pretty busy when I’m not at work. In my free time I enjoy playing and watching sports, and I coach my daughter’s softball team during the summer.

Jessica Schweller is the BEST provider (non-PCP) that I've had at OSU. She is forthright, follows the literature (new treatments for OSA, sleep medicine, & research), and believed in me enough to schedule a (second) sleep study so that I could discontinue using a CPAP (first was 2012-13, recent was 2026). She also serves as a mentor to some NP novices, which I like very much given the research nature of OSU Medical Center).

My provider was very concerned about my overall health, and the impact that some medications and vitamins may be having on my health. She encouraged me to get bloodwork done which I did immediately after my appointment.
