Biography

I’m a nurse practitioner working in inpatient medical oncology. I care for patients diagnosed with any solid tumor that have an acute-care need and require hospitalization. Typically, I work with patients suffering with uncontrolled pain or nausea, shortness of breath, altered mental status, decreased function or chemotherapy needs. These symptoms are usually caused by the cancer or are side effects of treatment. I strive to provide evidence-based care.

I’ve spent my entire career at The Ohio State University working in various areas, including a staff nurse at the medical intensive care, faculty at The College of Nursing and a nurse practitioner in the general internal medicine clinic. I have worked in oncology for 13 years and enjoy the educated and driven community that the OSUCCC – James provides. I was one of the first nurse practitioners hired in The Ohio State University system and was awarded the Clinical Excellence award.

I’m particularly interested in what therapies patients and families find most effective. I enjoy interacting with patients and their loved ones, and I strive to provide them with educated, individualized and compassionate care. At the OSUCCC – James, we believe that there is no routine cancer, and through knowledgeable and personalized care, I hope to contribute to the mission of living in a cancer-free world.
