About Me

I strive to provide care that is truly patient and family centered, where patients and families are partners in the care delivery process. As chair of the Department of Psychiatry, I am personally committed to advancing the quality and safety of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health services here at Ohio State and across the region, in part by improving both the quality and size of our faculty and staff.

With specialized training in pediatrics and also in child and adolescent psychiatry, I am particularly devoted to the care of young people and their families. I believe mental and physical health care are of equal importance to a person’s overall well being.  As a result, I work diligently to improve the integration of mental health services into general medical settings.

My research interests include the relationship between physical and emotional health, mental health service delivery, and the prevention of suicide. I believe making suicide a never event among our youth and across the lifespan should be a national priority.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 03/28/2017, Dr. Campo has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
