Biography
As a pulmonary and critical care specialist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I provide comprehensive and compassionate care to patients with both acute and chronic conditions. I regularly treat interstitial lung disease (ILD) and other pulmonary issues including sarcoidosis, bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and others.
I work hard to understand both the medical and personal aspects of my patients’ conditions and how their symptoms impact their daily lives. I offer customized treatments that best meet the unique needs and values of each of my patients. I also consider the entire family’s needs. I was a high school teacher in New York City before I enrolled in medical school and that experience instilled in me the importance of communities and families in providing patient care.
In addition to patient care, I am also focused on innovative research to advance the treatments we can provide. My current research examines access to care for patients with interstitial lung disease. I have published peer-reviewed journal articles pertaining to pulmonary fibrosis and other chronic pulmonary conditions.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son outdoors. Our family enjoys hiking and going to parks and playgrounds around Columbus.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
