Biography
I serve as vice chairman of academic affairs and professor of radiology and orthopedic surgery in the Department of Radiology at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. During my time here, I have received nine Annual Teaching Awards.
In my career, I have authored 300 papers, chapters, and abstracts and given more than 170 national and international lectures, including 21 visiting professorships.
I'm currently editor-in-chief of Open Journal of Radiology and have served on several editorial boards. I'm the sole author of Musculoskeletal Imaging: Case Review, in its 3rd edition and on the best-selling list of musculoskeletal textbooks. In addition, I was co-editor of the 2008 ARRS course syllabus State-of-the-Art Emergency and Trauma Radiology and in 2015, of Problem Solving in Emergency Radiology, endorsed by the American Society of Emergency Radiology (ASER).
I served as president of the American Society of Emergency Radiology (ASER) from 2016 to 2017. I have also served on numerous national and international committees in multiple organizations including the American Board of Radiology, American College of Radiology (ACR), International Skeletal Society, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Radiological Society of North America. I received honorary fellow status from both the American Society of Emergency Radiology and American College of Radiology, and I was awarded the ASER Gold Medal in 2019.
