Biography
I am Julie Omiatek, MS, OTR/L, CHT, and I specialize in neurological rehabilitation and upper-extremity rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. My practice focuses on helping adults regain function, independence, and quality of life through individualized occupational therapy interventions.
As an occupational therapist in the Division of Neurological Rehabilitation within the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, I care for patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions. My clinical interests include neuro-rehabilitation and hand and upper extremity therapy. I also helped develop the Neuro Vision Clinic at Dodd Rebab hospital, and continue to provide neuro vision therapy, in collaboration with Optometry. I have experience caring for individuals recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, Post-Concussive Syndrome, and Vestibulopathy/Dizziness.
My approach to care is patient-centered, focused on helping each person achieve meaningful goals that support daily activities, work and community participation. I work closely with patients to develop treatment plans that address their unique needs and maximize functional recovery.
In addition to providing clinical care, I have contributed to program development, clinical practice guideline work and professional education. I am a certified hand therapist and remain actively engaged in advancing evidence-based rehabilitation practices.
