Biography

I am Katherine Prina, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, a physical therapist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, orthopedic injuries and movement dysfunctions at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. My physical therapy practice focuses on helping patients recover from various msk conditions but with a passion for lower-extremity injuries and sports related injuries.

I am committed to providing personalized, evidence-based care that helps each patient reach their unique goals. I take the time to listen, understand concerns and develop treatment plans tailored to individual needs. I believe in empowering patients through patient education, encouragement and active participation in their recovery so that they can reduce their pain, improve their function and enhance their overall quality of life.

As a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy, I have advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. I completed an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency at The Ohio State University School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, where I gained specialized expertise in the evidence-based management of orthopedic and sports-related injuries.

My clinical interests include treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and movement dysfunctions, particularly lower-extremity injuries. I am trained in dry needling and have completed Part A of Mckenzie Method, allowing me to provide targeted treatment for spine and extremity conditions. As a certified strength and conditioning specialist, I enjoy incorporating strength and conditioning principles into patient care to help support their long-term recovery, performance and injury prevention.

Teaching, mentoring and professional development have played important roles in my career. I enjoy mentoring physical therapy students and collaborating with colleagues, which helps me stay current with emerging research and continually refine my clinical practice. I serve as a clinical instructor, mentor colleagues within my clinic and coordinate journal club activities that promote evidence-based practice and lifelong learning.

Among my professional accomplishments, I have presented research through abstracts accepted to professional conferences.
