Biography
I am a primary care physician specializing in internal medicine and pediatrics. I provide patient-centered care for individuals and families across the age spectrum from newborns into adulthood.
My goal is to work directly with each patient to optimize their health and wellness and prevent chronic disease. For patients with chronic health conditions, I ensure they understand their disease, help prevent progression and complications and collaborate with their subspecialists to provide the most comprehensive care possible.
As part of my practice, I see patients in several specialty primary care programs. One of those is MOMI PODS, which is focused on clinical dyad care for mothers and babies. I also work with the Center for Autism Services and Transition Program (CAST), which offers primary care for young adults on the autism spectrum.
In addition to clinical care, I am the associate director of Clinical Informatics for General Internal Medicine. I use my expertise in clinical informatics to collaborate with other clinicians and researchers. Our goals include improving use of the electronic medical record, data, and technology to enhance population health and patient outcomes.
I am also a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, helping educate the next generation of physicians.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two young kids, traveling, and exploring Columbus.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Kathryn Tobin has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
