Biography
I am an ambulatory care nurse practitioner at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center specializing in hepatology. I regularly treat patients with conditions such as cirrhosis, hepatitis B, autoimmune hepatitis and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). I have more than 15 years’ experience in the ambulatory care setting and 10 years’ experience as a nurse and nurse manager in the hospital setting.
My job allows me the opportunity to provide patients with the knowledge they need to optimize their quality of life, including through nutrition and weight loss. I have helped patients improve their health to the point where they can reduce or even come off their diabetes and/or blood pressure medications and sleep apnea machines entirely.?
My research is primarily focused on better understanding NAFLD. I’m especially interested in how it’s affected by diet, genetics and other chronic diseases such as diabetes and hyperlipidemia. I have presented my work on obesity, nutrition and weight loss at multiple conferences for EMTs, nurse practitioners and physicians. I’ve also been honored to give the obesity lecture for the nurse practitioner class at The Ohio State University College of Nursing.
I am passionate about using my expertise to make improvements that benefit patients. I initiated a change at the Ohio Board of Nursing by successfully demonstrating that nurse practitioners should be able to prescribe short-term and long-term weight loss medications. My leadership experience also includes two years as chair of the Nurse Practitioner Council.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my grandchildren. I enjoy taking aerobics classes and reading.

Our CNP is Kathy Foreman , she's very professional and very easy to understand. She Communicates directions to her staff very effectively during my visit. Offered a 6 month follow up visit after lab work is completed to compare with my current tests. Kathy explained the abbreviations that I didn't understand & the connection to my failing health.
