Biography
I specialize in critical care medicine and pulmonary disease. In the hospital, I treat the sickest patients in the intensive care unit. In the clinic, I also help my patients breathe easier, which helps to improve their daily lives. I pride myself on caring for each person as if they were my own family member.
The most common conditions I treat include lung complications related to cancer, pneumonitis related to chemotherapy or immunotherapy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and lung nodules. My research is focused on lung inflammation related to cancer treatment and how cancer impacts critically ill patients. I’m also exploring the link between cancer and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is an exceptional place to practice medicine. I love coming to work every day and being surrounded by smart, dedicated team members who all push each other, both clinically and academically, to provide the best patient care possible.

Academics and research
I am an Assistant Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Ohio State University, and my clinical and research focus is on pulmonary complications of cancer and cancer treatment. I run a clinic dedicated to cancer patients with pulmonary disease, wrote the guidelines for our institutions clinical practice guidelines on immune checkpoint inhibitor pneumonitis, and serve as the pulmonary expert on the immunotherapy toxicity tumor board and on the graft versus host monthly discussion. Through these experiences, I have unique insight into the research gaps that limit pulmonary care of cancer patients. Using my clinical expertise, I turned these unanswered questions into research initiatives, addressing risk factors for pulmonary complications in critically ill cancer patients and in patients on checkpoint inhibitor treatment. As principal or co-Investigator on several multidisciplinary research projects, I am aware of the importance of collaboration with researchers from different fields and have been productive in several recent projects detailed in my CV.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Great job
Excellent communication. Kind. Caring. Always making sure I understand everything
Good
Over the past 2 years, I couldn't be more pleased with the care I've received. So grateful. They always took the time to explain my medical circumstances in an easier to understand fashion. Never rushed. They took the extra time to make sure all of my questions/concerns were addressed before I left the appointment.
Love him- he always talks to me about my conditions . Whenever I have emailed him he always responds immediately
We talked about changing medications and we did on a trial basis he was very courteous
Very caring and concerned about my condition.
Dr. Ho is one of the best doctors that I have. The Wexner Medical Center should be glad they have him. I can't say enough good things about him.
Dr. Ho is one of the best. I'll recommend him implicitly!
Genuinely concerned.
Dr. Ho is always excellent. I see a number of doctors, I actually look forward to seeing him. Dr. Appts are a stressful thing for me.
