I love that as a certified nurse midwife, I have the opportunity to treat and empower women. In my role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I provide prenatal care and support women throughout their pregnancies. I also perform annual gynecological exams with Pap smears, offer STI screenings and help patients find the right contraception methods for them.
My patients can rely on me as a partner in their health care journeys, and I am passionate about educating them about their treatment options and providing useful resources. It’s rewarding to build lasting relationships with patients over the years and watch their families grow with subsequent pregnancies.
My research interests are centered on strategies to improve maternal care during the postpartum period, with a focus on maternal mental health. I was proud to help implement practice changes in this area during my Doctor of Nursing Practice training, and it’s a privilege to continue this work alongside such exceptional and devoted colleagues here at The Ohio State University. My experience also includes helping to train midwifery students in my role as a preceptor, and I have participated in Family Practice residency training.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband, son and two dogs. I also enjoy reading and spending time outdoors.
