Biography

As a former Division I athlete including 17 years of gymnastics, I have experienced physical therapy from the athlete’s point of view, providing great insight during my treatment at our Ohio State campus location.

My clinical interests include utilizing the McKenzie Method which empowers the patient utilizing self-treatment and prevention strategies. Other areas of focus include injury prevention, sports-related injuries, and injuries of the spine.

I am the team lead for evidence-based practice in the department of Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation. In addition to this role, I am actively involved in research and have been published in areas of ACL reconstruction and clinical outcomes.

In addition to my clinical roles, I am an assistant professor of clinical practice in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University where I teach in the evidence-based practice curriculum. Personally, I enjoy traveling, watching sports, and spending time with my family.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Pottkotter has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
