Biography

I am Nazif Kutaiba, DO, and I specialize in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), sports cardiology and general cardiovascular care at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. My practice focuses on diagnosing heart disease, and also on helping patients prevent and manage heart disease through personalized, comprehensive care tailored to their goals and lifestyle.

I joined the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center as an assistant professor of clinical cardiovascular medicine because I believe patients deserve to be treated as people, not just as diagnoses. When you see me, our conversations go beyond your heart condition. I take the time to understand who you are, what matters most to you, and how your health affects your daily life. Together, we will develop a plan that addresses the root causes of disease, improves your overall well-being and helps prevent future cardiovascular problems.

My path to cardiology was shaped in part by my work with athletes facing complex heart-related questions. That experience reinforced my belief that understanding a patient’s goals, values, and lifestyle is just as important as understanding diagnostic tests and imaging results. I am committed to listening carefully, answering questions, and partnering with each patient to make informed decisions about their care.

I have specialized fellowship training in HCM and sports cardiology, with advanced expertise in the evaluation and treatment of HCM. My clinical interests include cardiac myosin inhibitor therapy, advanced provocative testing, and multimodality cardiac imaging. I bring this specialized knowledge to every patient encounter while maintaining a whole-person approach to care.

Whether I am caring for someone with a newly diagnosed heart condition, helping an athlete navigate cardiovascular concerns or supporting a patient living with HCM, my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that helps each person live a healthier, fuller life.
