Primary Care - General Internal Medicine
Department: Internal Medicine
As a general internal medicine physician, I specialize in providing primary care to adult patients of all ages. I help my patients remain healthy throughout their lives by providing excellent preventive health care in addition to assisting with acute illnesses and injuries that occur from day to day. I also see patients with chronic health conditions and help them manage their disease, symptoms and overall health. I enjoy building long-term relationships with my patients, assisting and empowering them to make decisions that will maximize their health, longevity and ability to live wholehearted lives.
I specialize in treating patients with eating disorders – both their primary health care needs and treatment of any medical complications associated with the eating disorder. Through interactions with patients and my collaboration with community health care providers in treating individuals with eating disorders, I became sensitive to the multifaceted medical needs of patients with disordered eating and the need for more experienced and empathetic primary care providers in this field. With all of my patients, I’m passionate about providing weight-inclusive care to people of all body shapes and sizes.
After completing my internal medicine training at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, I served as an active-duty military physician for eight years at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. I performed comprehensive medical evaluations on aviators, ground crew and special duty operators to evaluate medical risk and assist with optimizing their health so they can perform their jobs safely and effectively. As a member of a multidisciplinary team that included general medicine providers, medical specialists and mental health experts, I learned to love how I could help patients live integrated, meaningful, healthy lives by addressing their health holistically.
When I’m not at work, you’re likely to find me biking, swimming, practicing yoga, curled up with a good book, scribbling in my journal or planning my next traveling adventure (within the U.S. or Europe). Most of my friends and family still reside in New England, where I grew up and where I try to return as often as possible. I love spending time with my brother, sister-in-law and nephews, my parents, my friends, and their many children (my extended 'nieces and nephews').

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Bridge has hit 2 home runs lately. I am trying a new tremor medication. She also had me enroll in Exercise is Medicine which is already having an impact in my life. Dr. Bridge is the only primary care doctor whose depth of technical knowledge impresses me during each visit.
Provider was very courteous and asked me about my health
Dr. Bridge was excellent; she asked me questions regarding my overall health as well as about the pain that brought me in. She examined me & explained her diagnosis, meds needed & possible side effects of meds. She also gave me a suggestion re: what to do if my pain doesn't improve. She made me feel very comfortable especially for a 1st visit.
Very good experience
Always above and beyond. Brought my mother as a medical companion, and she was very impressed with Dr Bridge. I always leave an appt feeling heard and with a plan. Her response to labs and testing is prompt and thorough.
Dr. Bridges is excellent, very well prepared to address my issues and concerns! Very knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. Excellent communication skills and follow up.
Excellent. Best doctor at OSU Wexner!
Dr. Bridge always reviews my medical history before seeing me and takes care to answer all of my questions. I very much appreciate that.
My provider is very good at explaining things and trying to be helpful but I felt she was really pushing medication and not listening to how I felt about it
Dr Laura Bridge is a wonderful doctor and I couldn't be more blessed than to have her as my doctor she has improved my quality of life three fold and appreciate her so much so I couldn't find any other doctor with her kindness and sincere professionalism
As usual, this was a good experience. Dr. Bridge listened and offered suggestions for next steps that we discussed and made informed decisions on.
