About Me

As a general internal medicine physician, I specialize in providing primary care to adult patients of all ages. I help my patients remain healthy throughout their lives by providing excellent preventive health care in addition to assisting with acute illnesses and injuries that occur from day to day. I also see patients with chronic health conditions and help them manage their disease, symptoms and overall health. I enjoy building long-term relationships with my patients, assisting and empowering them to make decisions that will maximize their health, longevity and ability to live wholehearted lives.

I specialize in treating patients with eating disorders — both their primary health care needs and treatment of any medical complications associated with the eating disorder. Through interactions with patients and my collaboration with community health care providers in treating individuals with eating disorders, I became sensitive to the multifaceted medical needs of patients with disordered eating and the need for more experienced and empathetic primary care providers in this field. With all of my patients, I’m passionate about providing weight-inclusive care to people of all body shapes and sizes.

After completing my internal medicine training at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, I served as an active-duty military physician for eight years at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. I performed comprehensive medical evaluations on aviators, ground crew and special duty operators to evaluate medical risk and assist with optimizing their health so they can perform their jobs safely and effectively. As a member of a multidisciplinary team that included general medicine providers, medical specialists and mental health experts, I learned to love how I could help patients live integrated, meaningful, healthy lives by addressing their health holistically.

When I’m not at work, you’re likely to find me biking, swimming, practicing yoga, curled up with a good book, scribbling in my journal or planning my next traveling adventure (within the U.S. or Europe). Most of my friends and family still reside in New England, where I grew up and where I try to return as often as possible. I love spending time with my brother, sister-in-law and nephews, my parents, my friends, and their many children (my extended “nieces and nephews”).

We had discussion a bout me not wanting to take mental health test. She said I raised my voice & appeared angry. I wasn't aware of that. & had fears about the test. It involved a discussion about how doctors were trying to help me. It ended well.

Outstanding. New patient and she spent time getting to know me and my medical history/background (something that has not been done by an MD in a long time)
