Biography
I am a board-certified family medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I provide comprehensive primary care services, including preventive care, chronic disease management and wellness counseling. My patients can rely on me for high quality, compassionate care and honest communication in every encounter.
I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of skilled experts to ensure each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs and values. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of providers.
I am a clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

I genuinely appreciate Dr. Hetson. She cares and it shows. She listens and makes you feel heard and valued as a person and not just a number. Even when I'm super anxious when talking to her, she just listens and appreciates what I have to say. She is honestly the best doctor I have ever had.

This was a new patient visit to establish care with Dr. Hetson as my previous PCP is no longer practicing. She was very thorough, asked about all routine preventative care and testing needed for my age and ensured that I was up to date on all of those (Mammogram, Pap smear, etc). She is also requesting medical records from my other providers to review all prior testing. She also reached out via MyChart after all lab work had been completed to assure me that all testing was normal and looked good.

Listened well made me comfortable and asked pertinent questions
Needs to ask or talk about things to watch for or to be aware of that as a patient I might not know to ask. She put information about bone density on line - no follow up questions.
Dr. Hetson heard my concerns about the statin I am on and some side effects I am experiencing. She cut the dosage in half which I appreciate. Dr. Hetson made that decision in the session prior to the blood work and I would have preferred the outcome to be based on my numbers rather than my wishes. In the end, my numbers were dramatically improved and cutting the statin was the right call. I always want things to be science based when they can be.
She is very good and kind helpful to me
I came in with upper respiratory symptoms and I was surprised that while pain in my ears was my chief complaint that my breathing wasn't listened to. I noticed this because I had the same thing happen with one of my children when I brought them in to see a different provider, they had upper respiratory symptoms and their breathing was listened to but I had to request their ears be checked.
Very friendly, asked a lot of questions to get to know me, listened to my concerns, ordered tests, referred me to the lifestyle medicine program. I'm so happy because I'm in a program that will help me and I really feel like Dr. Heston listened to me and suggested something that will work for me. I'm not a fan of taking meds when unnecessary.
