At this location, our family medicine physicians and advanced practice providers offer convenient primary care services in the Ohio State campus area for the entire family, children and adults. This clinic is dedicated in honor of Thomas E. Rardin, MD, a pioneering leader in Ohio who helped establish first family practice as a recognized medical specialty nationwide and Ohio State’s first family medicine residency program. In addition to the services offered below, this Rardin Family Practice also serves as a home for numerous community free clinic collaborations and partnerships

  • Routine physical exams, well-child checks, sports physicals, health screenings and immunizations
  • Care for illnesses such as colds and flu
  • Care for chronic conditions such as diabetes or asthma
  • Treatment of minor injuries
  • Health promotion and disease prevention support
  • Medical consultations and referrals to specialists when needed

As part of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission, we train the next generation of primary care physicians. Our Family and Community Medicine residency program participants are medical school graduates seeking specialized training in family medicine. Referred to as “residents,” these individuals provide patient care at this location as part of their residency training.

This primary care location, in collaboration with Ohio State Total Health Care Center, is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The FQHC designation recognizes community-based health care centers that deliver primary care services in underserved populations. Federally Qualified Health Centers are supported by federal Health Resources and Services Administration Health Center Program grants, by way of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, aimed at expanding access to affordable, quality primary care to vulnerable areas.
