Biography
I am a board-certified family medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in providing comprehensive primary care, including preventive health, chronic disease management, and wellness education for patients of all ages.
My patients can rely on me for high quality, compassionate care and honest communication in every encounter. I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of skilled experts to ensure each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs and values.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of providers. I am an assistant clinical professor of Family Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Everything was well
Dr Akbar always spends a lot of time checking in with me: my lab results, my prescriptions, my mental health. I appreciate her care very much. And she always has a smile to give us.

I felt heard by the physician and understood when I expressed my concerns about my health. Because of this, the appropriate tests were ordered, which led to a confirmation of a diagnosis that I had long suspected.
