Biography
As a sports medicine and emergency medicine physician, I specialize in providing care for the critically ill in the emergency department. I also treat nonsurgical musculoskeletal issues including knee, shoulder, hip and ankle pain or injuries and serve as co-team physician for Denison University.
I am passionate about helping athletes of all ages and skill levels recover from injuries, meet their athletic goals and maintain a high quality of life. I am committed to making sure that my patients feel heard and that their care is in alignment with their goals.
When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, photography, watching sports and cycling.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Margaret Kirwin has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
